The Annual Meetings, the core events of Japan Society for Molecular Science, has long been a scientific platform where not only our members but also researchers involved in molecular science from both within Japan and abroad come together to engage in lively discussions and deepen exchanges. It is with great pleasure and a sense of responsibility that we, the organizing committee, take on the task of overseeing the 20th edition of this distinguished meeting in this year.
This year's meeting will be significantly different from previous ones, as it will be held far from Tokyo, the home base of many members of the organizing committee, at the Kunibiki Messe, the Shimane Prefectural Convention Center, in Matsue City. Matsue is known for its connection to the Izumo myths, such as the legendary Yamata-no-Orochi and the stories of Kunibiki and the Land Offering. It is also the town deeply loved by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo). We hope that everyone will come to this peaceful castle town in the San'in region, leave behind the everyday matters, and immerse themselves in the world of molecular science, engaging in passionate discussions.
As for accommodations, there are nearly 3,000 rooms available in hotels within Matsue City, and more than 20 flights available to nearby Izumo Airport and Yonago Airport, so we do not anticipate any major inconvenience. However, we recommend making reservations as early as possible.
We look forward to the participation of many attendees in the 20th Annual Meeting of of Japan Society for Molecular Science, held in Matsue City.
